INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE
Solving Real World Problems
ASSOCIATE ROBOTICS ENGINEER
(INTERN)
Summer Internship 2018
Working in the Robotics (Hardware) team, I worked with the Head Engineer (Robotics) in the development of several ongoing robotics projects and prototyping proof-of-concepts for clients. I was involved in the concept design, CAD modelling, FEA simulation and electronics hacking in the above projects.
ENGINEERING DESIGN & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
(INTERN)
Summer Internship 2017
I interned in the Advanced Engineering Department of Wong Fong Engineering. I was assigned to a team of Design and Business Development Engineers to provide customised engineering solutions for customers across industries. I was involved in the development of a zone detection system for old truck-mounted cranes. I also had experience in using 2D CAD (Draftsight) for conducting preliminary space studies.

ASSOCIATE ROBOTICS ENGINEER
Red Dot Robotics
Red Dot Robotics is a robotics automation provider for logistics, security and several other industries. RDR also aims to be the pioneer in the autonomous conversion of existing machines or vehicles.

REVERSE ENGINEERING
(WITH ELECTRONIC HACKING)
Finding out the why
During my internship, I was assigned to reverse engineer a consumer robotics system. I dismantled and analysed the mechanical components to study its functions. I was able to hack the electronic components directly using an oscilloscope. I was able to reprogramme the robot using an Arduino in order to improveh the robot's capabilities.
CONCEPT DESIGN II
Making the impossible possible (again)
After understanding the problem faced by our clients, we would illustrate our ideas to better present to them. I was in charge of visualising our proposed concepts through Solidworks. Solidworks Animation was used to better illustrate the proposed idea.

MECHANICS SIMULATION
Does it really work?
After receiving customer feedback based on our preliminary idea, we would then proceed with modelling and simulation. I used Solidworks FEA to determine the safety factor of components undergoing substantial loading and Motion Analysis to verify if the desired motion of individual components are achieved.
DATA COLLECTION
the Fuel of today's Innovations
I had the opportunity to incorporate a CAN reading tool for old vehicles using Python and Arduino to identity important CAN messages for future development. The CAN messages was read through the Arduino using Serial coms.

ENGINEERING DESIGN & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Wong Fong Engineering Works (1988) Pte Ltd
I was part of a team of Engineering Design & Business Development engineers in providing customised engineering solutions for customers across various industries including defence, constructions and waste management.

SMART CAD DESIGNS
Linking things together
I had the opportunity of learning about optimizing Solidworks assemblies using Design Table, equations and relating critical dimensions for efficient and automatic generation of similar assembly models. This proved to be a very efficient method of documenting similar assembly models.
CONCEPT DESIGN I
Making the Impossible possible
I was tasked with modelling different ideas using Solidworks, based on the client's specifications. I was also in charge of preparing the Powerpoint Slides with the necessary concept designs.

PROJECT DOCUMENTATION
Writing things down
After the completion of every project, it is essential to ensure detailed documentation of each step for easy reproduction should the need arise. I had experience completing assembly and part drawing, with the necessary exploded views and Build of Material (BOM).
FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS
Why calculate when you can use FEA?
To verify that designs are structurally sound, I used Solidworks Static Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to determine the stress and safety factor of the design.
